Throughout the Park, disabled toilet facilities are available and the Park has its own Medical Centre where special needs can be catered for, i.e. cold storage of medicines and specialised equipment. Wheelchairs are also available to hire from Guest Services. Alton Towers provides a special guide for disabled visitors.

Alton Towers has the following health and safety codes which it must abide by: Fairgrounds and Amusement Parks Guidance on Safe Practice, The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974, The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1992, The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1992 and Disability and Discrimination Act 1995.
Sustainability
The Alton Towers Long Term Plan sets out how the resort can continue to grow in a sustainable way that properly manages the environmental and traffic impact.This will involve the County Council and Alton Towers revisiting the plans and agreements that currently exist, and will secure additional financial contributions from Alton Towers towards the transport
and environmental measures needed for the resort.The Long Term Plan consists of new and replacement rides and entertainment areas; an increased level of overnight accommodation; and revising the layout of parking areas and internal circulation to create a fully integrated resort. There will also be substantial investment in transport, heritage, woodland and ecological management.

The company employs around 2,000 workers during the summer period - and about 1,000 of which are full-time positions.The park is open for the main season between 24 March - 4 November 2012. Alton Towers provides the local with employment when they're in season.

People would go to eat in a place that they like and know, so popular places at Alton Towers like Burger King and Pizza Hut will have more customers than a small restaurant because people know what to expect from popular brands.
